Definitely an abscess..drove to town to urgent care only because the pain was shooting up into my temple and could not deal with the pain. If nothing should help, personally I consider direct application (not ingestion) of a painkiller (half a tablet lodged against the area of pain can be totally sufficient) the best solution, in my and a friend's experience this works in less than a minute to completely stop all pain, again compare When salt water didn't help). It was marvelous. The months prior I had a substitute hygienist who left my mouth sore since that visit or if it omg toothache may have been the two old fillings that were leaking, but Thursday my mouth hurt. I will finish this comment as I get to the 30 minute mark. While there is also so-called unrefined sea salt available which is snowy white and finely ground like normal table salt, I am not sure that the latter is as rich in minerals and trace elements as the grey salt. I crushed a half a clove and put it straight on my gum where the abscess was and IT BURNED!!!. This definately is one of the best home remedies I have come across.
